inverse Escanor. Escanor's powered up by the sun while this guy's just innately powerful but gets depowered if he doesn't have the sun.

the tone of this feels sort of... "fantasizing about my cool OC", kind of? I mean, creative OCs lead to less tropey stories and this story is relatively unusual, but this guy feels like a very "indulgent" character in a specific way. Sort of like the ideal parodied in "Eminence in Shadow", a calm cool smirky guy with hidden powers and hidden agendas who intentionally gets himself underestimated. But with a beefy and smarmy angle. I think he's on the mary sue side but I'll tune in to see where the character arc goes.
