Perhaps because Neko no you na Nanika happened not long after, those are all sorted firmly into the "My cat is actually an unspeakable (but still friendly) eldritch horror" category in my head instead. XD Along with Kuro, which is the earliest of at least those three (dunno how many others, if any, are out there).
