Why can't blonde bitch boy over here give up his position?!?! Why must she!?!? I'm holding out hope she won't give up everything she's worked so hard for the sake of some man. If someone is capable of spoiling it for me please do so, this comic series has been constant torture as I constantly have to debate whether to abandon ship or hold out hope, and I'd really like to know if all this emotions sufferings and fatigue is worth it whatsoever.

While I don't really know what happens next, Realistically the ML can't give up his position.

He's the Emperor, The absolute ruler of the country. If he steps away from that seat, there will be chaos for the position. He doesn't seem like that type to just abandon his duties even if he wishes to, It's a lot of responsibility to rule an Empire. Especially if it was achieved through conquest and domination. There was too much blood that was spilled to just throw it all away. Even if he finds someone else to fill the position. Who's to say people will respect that person as their new Emperor?

I get how it can be frustrating but I believe that may be the reason why he can't give up his position.

As for Paul, I sincerely hope she remains in her position as a knight since it's all she ever wanted. To be respected by her peers as a Knight through her own merits, trials and tribulations. If the story does go in the way where she has to give it up, I'll be severely disappointed.

If that was mentioned, I must've forgotten. I believe he could do that since the problematic council was dealt with, therefore no one to bully or manipulate his brother. But I think the reason why he thought he should do that is because the reason you mentioned, They thought Paul was infertile and ML doesn't want any other woman to be his wife.

Personally, I'm in the same boat. If he truly loves her, he should give up the throne to his brother if Paul doesn't change her mind on the whole thing. (Which I doubt she would.)
