The fact they were all prepared to give up their swords for her, instantly, without a second thought, just goes to show how much she has worked hard. How much she has fought for where she is, and that her being a woman doesn’t hamper her social standing to those that get to see her for who she is, up close, and her ambitions. Each of these people at some point distrusting her, hating her, or disrespecting everything she stood and fought for. I felt a bit emotional ngl— that was one hell of a well written scene.

That was a great callback to the early chapter. The first time she asked for a sword, no one but Lucius would hand her one. This time, everyone but Lucius wants her to use theirs. It made me grin.

Um my guy, she’s literally been fighting against societal norms and discrimination the entire story, and was denied so much because she was born a woman. Why should she give up everything she’s worked so hard for when others never had to?

It’s about damn time the people who care for her pick up the slack and start making a change that’ll benefit her and the other women they love.

Lol what a terrible take. The whole point of the arc is that Lucius is trying to change the patriarchal laws of the empire he inherited to ensure Paulina keeps the titles and rewards she earned by fighting in his conquest of the continent.

Even having Gerald stay in the castle makes perfect sense. Kids a bastard to an emperor without a male heir. The nobles would chomp at the bit to get (or kill) that kid, staying at Paul's castle is about the only option to keep him safe.

Why even comment when you've done a shit job reading the story?
