@nmyhv1 daily newspapers only became a thing around the early 18th century. So for a fantasy world more or less based on medieval times, that's a bit of an anachronism. Not to mention there's no way those would reach the villages.

What really annoys me are those chapters broken in half.

yeah, the fact that they have magic and such on it's own separates their history of technological development from ours. It isn't even right to assume they are medieval just because they use swords and armor. Guns would be significantly less effective if things like shells existed so swords and armor wouldn't have been supplanted, especially if they worked better with the shell. There isn't really a way to tell what era they're suppose to be in since theirs would look nothing like ours.

Who says it is a daily paper, or even that days paper. It could be a monthly publication and a week old that just arrived in town/got passed on to the MC.
