No, chapters purposely split by scanlators are not allowed on md. @irina I think it’s mentioned in the rules whenever you press the upload button(?)

Nice, appreciate the more streamlined translation here compared to the other group. Makes understanding the terms and context of the backstory more comprehensive so please continue 😉

ok feeling very ick from the short blip about the history how leta/areta clan “initially had dark skin” and associating the skin color with “crimes” and “evil” then later “their initial traits faded away” like correct me if im wrong but this all seems very colorist and racist to me.

I think you missed the whole point of the chapter. Reading comprehension is a luxury to those who view the world with tainted glasses I suppose.
The author is presenting "racism" a bad thing and obviously the "white folk" were the villains here. They didn't associate black skin with evil and white skin with good. They simply described how one empire viewed those who they deemed to be "others" in universe.

@yldDavid
i said what i said.

anyways, I know of a good book that actually executes this idea more realistically, it’s called The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang.

@mrkitty @aaa1344 I agree but when I read the same chap from the other translators the chapter made more sense. And the narration said right after they associated them with bad stuff that the people who said that were ignorant and saying that to rise above them and that they threw all sorts of disgrace on them. So maybe it's not quite as bad if the other translation is correct.

Thank you for telling me that but I’m still very iffy they made MC white because over the years their dark skin trait simply just “faded away”. Seemed very colorist to me.

@mrkitty Yeah, I agree. A lot of these stories have some kind of throw-away racism and colorism. Just to add back story or angst or some other stupid thing.

Are you kidding me?! The dark hair and dark skin just “faded away”? Not only do genes not work like that, it just seems like a dumb attempt at making the MC pale-skinned for no reason at all.

This is a Korean webtoon, so I can’t hold assume it’ll have the same amount of diversity as a western webtoon. (Even now, most of the western webtoons have terrible diversity)

well it's a korean manhwa...racism is probably something they do on a daily basis and they probably doesn't even realize they're doing it lol
(wait...i think what i just said count as racism as well toward the Koreans....lol)

Bunch of sissys can't help but virtue signal, or even worse, actually get offended about the setting in a fantasy world.
