Can someone explain why they tried to poison MC in the first place? It appears the second prince got engaged with her for support in the succession race. But if they killed her before he became King they would lose the Dukedoms support. Which means killing the MC makes no sense??? They're just shooting themselves in the foot
Lmao, the dancer looks so scary and that's why I think is the Duke (the ML). XD
@anna124 Well, he obviously tried to kill her because he cared more about getting married to Ally/or not getting married to someone fat, than the benefits of his relationship with Eve. Do you remember how disgustingly he talked when Eve was trying to lose weight? It's obvious that the guy is super shallow and dumb so I'm not truly surprised.
Anyway, maybe in the very first place he just got engaged with Eve because of a royal order (the king's order) or since he's an idiot, and Ally really wanted to steal everything from Eve, things took this direction; so yeah, even tho he would gain more support and many more with this marriage, he got "in love" with the black-haired girl and both decided to kill her.
Why would they go as far as to kill her? Well, because Eve is the most powerful woman in the kingdom, aside from the royal family women (idk if there are princesses or if there's a queen).
You can't break an engagement with the most powerful woman from the most powerful family just because; if he were to do so, probably his dad the King would have punished him, or he would no longer have chances to obtain the throne in the future, certainly, he would have lost his pride and honor because there's no way he would be safe from rumors and despise for breaking up just to get married to another woman. His affair and how he was cheating on Eve would have been exposed and well, he'd be done for (Ally also would have had to pay deeply and probably more than him if those things were to happen/be exposed).
Also, even if he were to maintain the King's support, the nobles would have still probably gone against them (which would be equal to lose the throne), and lastly, do u think the Duke (Eve's father) would have allowed him to just break up and humiliate his precious daughter like that? Nah, keep in mind that the Duke is not just the most influential and powerful nobleman in the kingdom aside from the King, he's also the most powerful swordsman (disputable, maybe the ML is more now, who knows) so her father is a big, BIG THREAT. The trashy Pince wouldn't have risked himself like that, so this horrible couple decided that it was easier to kill her and easy peasy lemon squeezy, lol.
With Eve the Prince would have secured the succession, but Ally is a daughter of a Marquiss so she's not that bad in terms of power, lineage, and blabla, obviously, she's not at pair with Eve's power, but with the other Prince's support and if he plays the role of being hurt by the loss of his precious fiancée, maybe the Duke would haven't gone against him and maybe he would have helped him, so I don't think killing Eve would have made him lose a lot (especially because almost anyone really cared for her), idk.
