If i had to guess, i'd say the author wanted to avoid going the Devilman manga route of everybody dying in the end and keep making "enemy of the week" type of stories for his character. I can kinda get behind that feeling, but I also understand why you would say it's past its peak. Nonetheless I appreciate your effort and i still enjoy the stories, freaky as they are lol
