The art is trash. Full stop. A 7 year old obsessed with Naruto draws better than this.

The plot meanders into slow paced bullshit. You’ve REALLY gotta be bored to keep up with this nonsense. The characters make illogical decisions even for in world conditions. The concept of a power fantasy where the power is hidden is largely executed in juvenile fashion.

you have been warned.

I’ll say that it’s alright. Nothing particularly crazy about the series to make it stand out but you might find it enjoyable. Art style doesn’t personally bother me, I wasn’t looking for something breathtaking to look at, but may bother some people. (Note: Posted after reading chapter 68)

I don't recommend it. The first few chapters were fun, but I should've noticed the early warning signs. The story is pretty typical with the MC not wanting to do anything, but he ends up having to because other people do things. He also escapes his with identity still hidden. Like how??? Don't read it unless you want a headache.

I'm still enjoying it. The art is fine, admittedly not breathtaking but perfectly adequate. Action scenes are cool.
I also appreciate that the story is much more about personal emotional growth than just a generic power fantasy about killing bad guys

I wouldn't mind the premise at all but they don't really stick with it so it might as well be any other random OP MC isekai. I'd definitely have a lot of sympathy for trying to stay on the down low but the methods used to remain incognito don't seem well thought out. My impression is that the MC goes out of his way to be difficult to 'avoid annoying things' but in the end just makes things worse for himself, and not in a way that leads to a satisfying character growth or commentary. It's like a tabletop DM just randomly rolling for each next encounter and winging it on how to shoehorn the hero party into doing it.

All that said, it's not exactly insufferable. Could be worth checking out if you've got nothing better to do.

IMO, it really finds its footing once the supporting cast develops. The characters are consistent, and the plot and themes are handled... just competently, so far.

The writing is by far at its strongest with calmer scenes between characters just talking and interacting, which is why I stuck through reading it this long. This work actually has character development beyond just new power ups, which feels rare in this genre. What's even more rare, the characters tend to drive development in each other. Naine in particular has a decently compelling arc.

I'd say it's better than okay, and I can get used to the cartoonish art style. I don't think the early reviews were looking at the best parts of the work, and the 'laze around the house' family drama phase at the beginning is indeed boring as an arc.

For transparency, I have read up to the first 40 chapters of this story. Normally I would review a manhwa after 10 chapters, but these chapters either are short, or feel short. Now, for a crappy review.

Holy cow, this is bad! I can tolerate the so-so translation, even if it borders on unintelligible, but I've read manhuas (yes manhua, not manhwa) with better everything to this. Art style stands out in no way, but I can give it a pass. Art style is merely the medium for what truly matters: characters and story; that being said, the story screams that it wants to be emotional, but gives zero time to set it up.

MC does whatever he can to hide his strength from people, because he doesn't want his past life to be a repeat of this one, but then reveals it during the dumbest possible moments. (I'll try to be spoiler-free.). Characters try to set up emotional moments, but give us too little time with them to make it impactful. When MC is given credit for something from those of high status, he is doubted by all the characters that are against him, yet accepted by those rooting for him. The only character that seems to evolve in any way, in the 40 chapters I have read was someone introduced 30 chapters in, and it was so rushed that I could not care less what happens to them in any future chapter. MC gives off a fake dynamic where you think he changes in the beginning chapters, but in reality he has been the same the entire time. He has mental trauma (not to be confused with PTSD) that if he revealed his strength he will be asked to being a hero again, but still "works through it" when he chooses to fight. His allies have not changed in any way, other than seeing when he reveals his strength to them, and, again, under the DUMBEST circumstance.

I can't go further without spoiling anything, and I wouldn't want to ruin anyone's time by actually explaining the terrible plot of it anyways. That's just paraphrasing what is already bad so you would still be reading it indirectly. I dare not expose anyone reading this to more than I have.

This manhwa, as of chapter 40, is either a horrendously poor adaptation of some novel, or some terrible idea pulled out of the backlogs of a publishing company in order to get rid of this crap while something that will actually be good is in written out. If it's based off a novel, and it's nothing like this, then I feel immensely sorry for the author. If the supposed novel is exactly like the manhwa, I hope this is their first work ever, or they should quit this job.

Then again, all this could just be due to bad translation, and how this has been censored for minors. That's what the translation certainly comes off as, but maybe they're going directly off the words in the raw.
