I feel like MC's plan to abandon all his power and authority to wander the world with a bunch of money in a tumultuous era is... ill-conceived. She talks about "seeking asylum" in Liangzhou but I don't really think seeking asylum was a thing in the 2nd century and, if it was, it would only be on the basis of having powerful relatives elsewhere. Otherwise, if there's no force or family behind you, what's to stop the people you are seeking asylum from, from just taking all your money and killing you. Or (best case scenario) taking all your money and forcing you to marry into their family as the lowest form of concubine?
