The story is such a fucking chaos with sometimes very little coherence, but I like it.

He is literally the hero who saved the world after all his comrades died. He would obviously have to have a great deal of skill and could have learned about magic from his comrades. Also he is not a Mary sue, he is clearly not capable of everything. In this very chapter, he did not get a perfect score and only answered the last question which also happened to be the only thing he knew and worth the most.
If he was a Mary sue, he would have answered every question with no problem and achieve a perfect score. In a previous chapter, where he fought the giant monster, he was not capable of killing the monster. He could only stall it for 5 minutes and had to have someone else kill it.
Please understand the story you are reading before criticizing it. The story becomes more enjoyable that way.
