Oh i hate this kind of villain(hatesink trope so the author did do well to make him hated.)
to ensure his world's survival he is willing to destroy other worlds or his own life.
all that comes out of his mouth.. is excuses and arrogant crap.

and i suspect that he is not that powerful as he claims he is. not at least now since he looks weakened somehow.

It reminds me of L'arc and Glass from Rising of the Shield Hero. This guy comes off as much more villainous, though.

And yeah. He's probably at his weakest since his dragon and most of his items are gone. If we go by the other 5-star classes, most of his skills are probably related to gathering an army, or he needs a dragon/steed.

I agree. The world eater didn't have the strength to stop his world from reaching that point in the first place, so how would he have the strength to save it now? Sounds like self delusion to save himself from acknowledging his own cowardice and weakness, which the necromancer is exploiting.
