So it's confirmed to be them from past loops. And the supernatural force trapping them in the loop is enforcing these changes to keep things more or less the same. Curiously, they can also share the (visual) contents of thoughts to some extent, given his image of Sadako was supposed to be in his mind only. So if he happened to fantasize sexy times with her somewhere there's a chance she could see it?


I do like how they manage to sneak in some bits of romantic progress even in times like this. She's definitely starting to fall for him now. I mean, the fact that she was ready to kiss him last time was already pretty clear progress. That said, she hasn't really answered his confession either has she? It's more like at this point she's being curious what a kiss from him would be like (her likely answer at this point: maybe), over actually wanting to kiss him because she's completely fallen in love with him (her answer at this point would be: yes).
