No it wasn't.
All his past actions are his "fathers" fault, rather than caring nourishing and healing him he caused his own suffering child even more pain and suffering leading to a downward spiral that caused him to abhor the world explaining his actions.
And he is also the one that allowed that his children fight for the future patriach position ignoring that some of his bastards would even sell their souls to monsters for power...
He may be a parent but he is not worthy to be called "father".
I hate when mc's that possess someone just take the blame for something or forgive someone even when they aren't even the actual one that suffered through it... just because you took over someone elses body doesn't give you the right to make light of their suffering.
Even if he said that just for his own benefit, and didn't mean what he said.

So Kyle was slowly dying, had no power and quite simply couldn’t physically do what his family could so his “father” thought the best way to deal with him was to torture him with exercise he couldn’t do then call him useless and say he doesn’t want a son like him?
But somehow it’s the literal child’s fault he has mental health issues? Maybe next time treat him with love and kindness.
And of course the MC, who never liked Kyle and blamed him for everything from the get go, gets all the benefit of Kyle‘s suffering without ever acknowledging it was the family who screwed Kyle up in the first place.

Oh brother. Give Kyle a break. The kid was dieing and called useless by the adult in his life that he looked up to the most and the one he should've been able to confide to the most. I get dads having to be hard on their sons to turn them into men that will survive without them and thus repeat, but jesus, abandoning an adolescent does not promote good returns.
Calling an under devoloped boy a coward is just low.
