She's from a clan of subterfuge, so all kind of cruel behavior and clandestine plans shouldn't be any strange phenomena for her. Despite her own regrets, she might be more interested in knowing why she can remember stuff from her past life and why those memories don't match the current reality. In the older timeline, Frey was a jolly fellow, loved by the heroines, until he suddenly betrayed them and the whole mankind. But now Frey is a known scumbag loved by no one. There's quite a huge contradiction for anyone bothering to think about it.

Don't think he was loved as an adult in the previous life. The reset brought him back a few years and at this point he already had a reputation for being a scumbag and was already in "cahoots" with the demons just unknown to everyone else.

He was loved as a child because he was a stellar, upright and righteous kid who suddenly became a scumbag after receiving the prophecy and everyone (heroines and sub-heroines) still wanted to believe him until he ultimately "betrayed" them at the end of the previous life.

This is what is changing the behavior of the heroines in this life because they know what he did in the end, so they changed their attitude towards him and are acting differently.

I think Serena's actions are because she knows it's weird she has a second chance at life and she still believes in Frey and thinks there must be a reason for his actions so she started investigating now.

From what it sounds like she has an idea of what's going on but no proof so she doesn't count as "having discovered the truth" so she's erasing her memories to stop her from getting closer to the truth and putting herself under his control to protect him/the timeline

I like the fact that she is actually questioning the current situation she is in. It would be quite immature to think that the man that you know has been good your whole life suddenly betrayed the entire kingdom and suddenly he starts acting like a d in this current one because he has always been like that secretly. Especially in a world where mind control could easily exist.
