The domination stone has apparently been super nerfed. It's not a once-per day use kind of thing, but it only works on demons/monsters.

In a different timeline, when Frey still had the ability to go back in time, he used it in the final battle to control an entire army of demons who were brain dead in order to trick one of the demon generals.
