A lot of these stories feature the "system windows" as some sort of crutch to force things to happen or to get things going faster, but this is somehow even more the case here. The only reason he's going to do anything is because a magic window tells him to. The entire premise is "an omnipotent magic thing you can 100% trust told you how to go through the story". This fucking sucks.
