I suppose the system is quite desperate to give humans a chance against the overpowered demon side, but there's not much it can do. Who knows why the demon queen obeys the system at all. Maybe it amuses her, but it doesn't amuse her enough, so she pushes her boundaries gleefully.

This was actually a pretty decent chapter. The Demon Lord getting free roam was a plothole that wasn't really explained in the novels IIRC, there wasn't a scene like this that detailed why she's suddenly just out there, at least to my memory.

In the novel she is genuinely a horrible person up until the twist. Honestly I feel that the novel did do a good job on making her feel "irredeemable" enough to not fully see this coming.

then it is usually a case of bad adaptation of novel.

The main theme of the novel is about misery p0rn or just tragedy, attacking your psychological aspect of self, but this adaptation focused on the lighthearted theme, killing its charm. just like a soup without seasonings, its just bland harem. So yeah, better read the novel (if you've read the novel or completed it, you understand us right?)
