uh? Why did the guy suddenly die when he was thrown and the explosion escaped through his mouth (surprised it didn't escape as a fart tbh, expected boring crude humor there)? He was still reflecting all damage, so he should still have remained unscathed.
yeah i feel like something got lost in translation.

I guess there's a limit to the reflecting.

He was clearly not reflecting all the damage, looking at how bloated he was. His skill must have been limited somehow (e.g. by a magnitude of damage received or a number of sources of damage) and he has finally hit the braking point right there.

On a different note I wonder what would normally happen if someone were to throw him at a wall. Would the wall receive the rebound and crumble? Would his body fly back unscathed? Would the rebound hit the person who had thrown him? Or maybe a mixture of some of those?

I see in addition to being able to make a bomb out of anything, he also has the ability to fire 65% more bullet per bullet!

That is exactly my issue with what I read, yes. He shouldn't have taken any damage. Artistic freedom (aka mangaka kinks) is one thing, but the death is clearly not merely that.

Nah, it said "perfect reflection".

It reflects damage, not attacks. If it reflected attacks mc would be dead by now. And it does not make him extra bouncy either. It is simply that the damage he would take would get reflected back onto the wall.
Remember, when he is flying at a wall, he is actually at rest and the wall (and planet) is flying towards him. If deceleration would damage him, then it instead accelerates the wall/planet (maybe subtracting safe amounts of deceleration at every tick, so planet doesnt break).

All just a speculation, but you're free to disagree.

My WAG is that once inside his body, the different sphincteres formed a sealed environment. From there it was the over pressure that caused him body's containment to fail, and explode into bloody chunks. Even if Mr Cubicle warrior didn't turn into the world's fuglest firework, the internal damage as the explosion leaked out his orifices would have likely caused a lethal ammount of damage. It would have just been a lingering one, rather then going out with a bang.

on a side note, there would be limitations to the skill. Otherwise it would have had a higher grade. True it was powerful, but just the fact the Bomber could grapple him proved it also had major flaws.

Think a lot of that would only work with external threats. Once the damage originated from internal, enclosed spaces, the skill would no longer have surfaces upon which to mitigated the damage. Hence, BOOM, goes the dynamite.

That can easily be attributed to all of the force being reflected, and not every attack. Otherwise the guy would be making tornados around himself simply because he decided to reflect all the wind blowing at him.

How do you know that and why would the MC be dead? If it were as you say the pistol bullets wouldn't turn around and instead they'd destroy themselves on impact.

To begin with, you would start farting long before you build up enough pressure to bloat up to the extent he did, not to mention blow up. And like I said, the bloating is obviously artistic liberties, since that size would actually be damaging to his body (stretching of skin, and probably harmful to spine etc, and even organs) and thus have been reflected.

You clearly have a different definition for "perfect" than me. Even if it was rank E, he should never take any damage. The rank can only be stuff like increasing the amount reflected (even to above 100% apparently), how it is reflected (converted into conceptual damage on the original attacker vs just reflecting the damage-vectors [what he actually had] vs reflecting damage as heat into entire surroundings), and such.

There are surfaces inside your body too. And bomber proved this by having it enclosed in the mouth and still working (and then even inside the digestive system).

If it reflected all the force, he would have tornadoes. He mentioned that it uses a threshold to only do anything that would damage him.

I know it because the guy explicitly stated it in dialogue that it reflects damage.
While if it reflected attacks then an explosion inside his mouth would not get reflected back into his mouth, but actually always reflect towards the attacker. So it would quickly power up and escape the hand clamping the mouth looking akin to some super-directed breath-attack. (except it would probably trigger way before the explosion, as it would constitute an attack the moment mc tried to put something foreign into his mouth against his will. So it should never have made it inside).

Basically, the difference is that damage is ownerless, while an attack needs a malicious source. So reflecting damage can be done in any number of ways, while an attack being reflected always means the source gets actively targeted.

O . o the number of sphincteres the explosions would have to pass thrue in order for it to be expelled as a fart would be many more then a belch, a sneeze, or gag reflex, aka throwing up.

it also completely ignores the distance and catastrophic damage it would have caused as it traveled along the small intestines, colon, and anus.

Just as you've previously claimed the author's artistic license for the dud's explosion, the same can be true for the skills description.

Also at some point the reflected damage stops originating from an external source, and becomes self inflicted wounds. True the skill doesnt seem to differentiate between sources, but then again we only have the skills name and not the description to go on.

And the collateral damage as the explosion made its way thrue his body would have been catastrophic, even without the meaty thwump at the end.

They would still hold less pressure than skin is elastic.

Damage that was perfectly reflected.

No, text can't be made into metaphores for a gag, unless they are an actual metaphor. So long as text means what it says, it means what it says.
And characters in stories can never lie when they explain their powers~

Even if it did distinguish, it would never suddenly change the source of the damage. At most it might be made ownerless (like a punt turning into fall damage), but not change to another. But yes, liek you said it doesn't distinguish. It only reflects the damage (as in, the projectile), not the attack (as in, 100% accurate homing bullet, or spontaneously spawning gunshot wounds on attacker without needing ricochet to hit).

That damage was perfectly reflected

A reasonable explanation would be that the explosion kept reflecting and heating up the air/liquid inside his body until he popped like a balloon. It only specifies 'damage' aimed towards him so the heat produced transferred into his bodily fluids but then his body went and did damage to itself by expanding too much. After he's dead no more skill activating so the explosion finally escapes and affects his body.

Of course the real answer is just because it looks cool

Yes, he did say that. Consider however that all of them got isekaied and only got a vague description of their skills. For example, the bomber had it explained that he just ups the chance of successfully creating a bomb. It did not however tell him that he could take a city core and instantly make a bomb out of it nor did it tell him he could do so without any extra materials (which should surely be used because he covered it with some cable-like things and even got a remote detonation system working). So their understanding of their own skill sucks.

  1. It is enough for an attack to just do a u-turn, it doesn't have to be actively targeting/homing on anything.
  2. The "attack" itself could be considered any external force (maybe also have the treshold of "being strong enough to harmfully affect the user's body"?) or it could even be up to the user to decide what is or isn't an attack.
  3. "Attack" is just a word I used, stop picking on small details just to fit your own argument.
If you try there's like a million ways you can make the current narrative work and be logical. Are you actually being oblivious to all of them or are you just pretending to?

Not how this works at all, even in the real world. You might wana educate yourself a little on how the body works before making that claim. Especially when you take things like enhanced strength due to levels and fantasy bullshittery into account.
Damage that was perfectly reflected.
Yupper, perfectly reflected into his own body, until he exploded.

Called the gag reflex. If you do it enough the effect is what is commonly referred to throwing up.
And characters in stories can never lie when they explain their powers~
Except in instances where they intentionally lie. May or may not be the case here, but the dud could have been trying to obfuscate the skills true abilities by calling it something close enough to it's effect without giving his enemies enough information to ignore his skill.
Even if it did distinguish, it would never suddenly change the source of the damage. At most it might be made ownerless (like a punt turning into fall damage), but not change to another. Sure it would. Once perfectly reflected the skill owner becomes the originator of the attack not just because it was reflected, but also because the skill has the effect of doubling the damage.
That damage was perfectly reflected
Yupper perfectly reflected infinitely into his own guts till he exploded.
