Very possible, though I am more concerned that with how big and advertised this recital seems to be that the middle school classmate that seemed to figure her out might show up to stir things up and out her.

Now I wonder how the reactions for Saki and Kanon Will be if the middle school friend shows up, which I imagine from the flashback a while back it involved her finding out about Saki preferences and probable hurting her in the process

Exactly this, I am expecting something in the next arc or so that causes Saki to try isolating herself and keeping people out and it will be Kanon's turn to be the one to bring her back and showing that she's not as alone or disliked as she feels her orientation will make her.
