What we really need it Kurosawa teaching Kanbayashi a lesson, not koinosuke, he's still a kid.

I...am gonna be real.
What valor will be gained by this Aikido school by beating up a middle aged homeless man that lives under a bridge? Like, maybe he disrespected the school by not playing along with the fake demonstration...
but if I were thinking about a place to learn martial arts, the guys resorting to riverside bum fights aren't really gonna be my first choice.

It's like they're so focused on their own narrative they've spun with their audience, they don't realize just how much this is really just self-sabotage in the sense of like, normal people.
I wonder if Kurosawa is going to lose the duel, and this very thing comes up as a means of completely deflating the "victory" Kanbayashi has worked so hard to create.

the cops: so you've been harassing a homeless encampment and...you beat one of them in front of a large crowd?
Kanabayashi: well...y-you see, that's...uhh...

The hags don't know that Kurosawa is a homeless guy, and they are a bunch of dumb asses that were half there just to oogle and perv on Koinosuke, however they are also prideful hags, that don't want to feel like they are being made fools of, but none of them actually really care about martial arts or actually learning self defense

The duel itself is a scam, they are trying to cheat the audience into buying their bullshit again, the "valor" the Aikido school will gain is customer retention, by defeating the fabled dojo buster the demon Kurosawa

And for Kurosawa there's nothing on it, and i really hope the boss will tell him next chapter that since the Aikido school is so desperate that they will be plotting to cheat on the duel

I think, in the end, Koinosuke will have a moment of epiphany during this fight, and become a strong man in his own sense, just like Kurosawa did against Nakane in the original series. But it will come at the cost of being a pretty boy genius that the ladies adore.
