Nothing. Japanese laws are irrelevant to gaijin pirate sites.

Sure, but their retardness was the main cause of their demise.
Their fault for using google servers to host images. It was bound to happen.

Meanwhile, MangaDex has a decentralized p2p network of servers https://mangadex.org/md_at_home

Disclaimer, I'm no expert on this shit.

KissManga specifically had big manga (as in popular) that was currently being released, and they hosted it there. Official translations is a big no. MangaDex has a lot of workarounds to copyright stuff, which you can read about in the Rules section. We're literally untouchable.

And yeah, I know you specifically said KissAnime. Idk if that was intentional, but regardless, comparing KissManga to MangaDex is more relevant and useful than comparing KissAnime to MangaDex.

MD is not a priority.
The only thing i fear is that natural selection gets us due to all of the other aggregator sites being killed.

Idk if I'd use the phrase "natural selection", but I get what you mean. It would be more like MD would be one of the last sites to be eliminated in the crusade against mango sites.

Not happening. It's relatively cheap to run (compared to other types of pirated media) and can be quite profitable.

Why are we pretending Kissmanga was not replaceable?

It was the biggest, but it's by no means unique. If anything, pirate manga aggregators are on the rise and Mangakalot mirroring has never gone down.

The anime portion is more annoying, but a certain reddit specializes in finding replacements......
