There seem to be a lot of hate on Ray, but i must say I completely understand her. The MC seems to be almost clinically idiotic, yet she got a job which requires a lot of education and effort just because she has special eyes. She is useless and she thinks she will be forgiven everything just by being nice, friendly and cute. Maybe i'm biased because my job is supervising people IRL but i would kick the MC out asap..

I agree with Ray. Being "nice", bubbly and easygoing doesn't excuse incompetence. Being clumsy and an airhead are not definite traits that you are born with that you can't change no matter what. As we have seen in this chapter, Maya simply wasn't putting in any effort.
Until now, Maya hasn't been nothing but purely and objectively detrimental to Ray's career. Ray has her own circustances, because of them she has studied, trained and worked harder than anyone; and she has the knowledge and abilities to prove it. But because she was arbitrarily paired with Maya, Ray is being deprived of the progress and the opportunities that she had rightfully earned.
"Ray will be fine even if she is being held back, so let's make her take care of Maya". That is what the teacher was probably thinking. Ray is actually being penalized for her hard work and excellency, just so Maya can receive special tratement. It's perfectly normal to feel frustrated.
Let's hope that from now own Maya starts taking things more serioulsy. Because, let's be honest, she doesn't deserve to be there. If that furball hadn't apparently bestowed the gem eyes upon her, she would never have been accepted. She doesn't only lack the knowledge and the skill, she also lacks the discipline, the dedication and the proprer mindset to work there. The Ministry doesn't exist just for her to have fun.
We will see how everything unfolds.

Why people hate ray? If you dont understand where she is coming from either you've never been arbitrarily paired with an inept person in aniy important job, or you were the inept.

Kururu is the first cute animal token character I've grown fond of.

It would be neat to see this manga done with Ray as the MC. I like Ray better as a character but the growth of Mana is what we're all here to read which is fine I guess

I think it's a little early to be shopping for souvenirs. Asking Ray for help would've been far more endearing than gifting some donuts.

ray is such a tsundere LOOK AT THAT BLUSH and the extra page when she apologized too omg cute. I don’t get all the hate clearly Ray couldnt go on gem hunting missions because of Mana holding her back that’s why she was so upset. I want them to talk it out more and understand each other. Ray seems like a genuine person and she did apologize for going too far on the last page, tho the bell rung AHAHA
