I really don't understand how did this manga get such high score? It's not bad, but definitely not a masterpiece! Oh well, maybe with time those people will read more and broaden their views!

This single chapter had so much character development I'm honestly so speechless. This is such an amazing first chapter, not only as a hook, but towards understanding the characters in such a deep level that even power fantasy and cultivation stories combined after multiple arcs can't compare to this level of writing, in just a single chapter

If you filter all the manga on the site by Top Rated, you'll get a page that consists of roughly half good stuff and half sewage. People give excessively high ratings to really bad series all the damned time... and it usually for the hastiest and shoddiest of reasons. Like for instance, maybe the series does ONE thing differently, and people start dropping 10/10s on it even when the execution is terrible and the whole thing isn't even thought through in the slightest. Or maybe their emotional depth is measured in nanometres and they give full marks to a series because it is happy... or sad... or because the protagonist had sex in the first chapter. And the only thing to be learnt from this is that the rating system, like any other form of democracy, is pointless and achieves nothing.
