I don't really get all this spy drama. I would have assumed that having the gates and towers all managed by association agents, they control who goes in and out. And why would people simply assume anyone other than themselves are spies and attack? It's like going for a walk in the part, and someone happens to be sitting behind a tree, so you cut down the tree to kill the person.
