I haven't read a single chapter of this, is it worth reading, or does the ending not tie the story up? :thonk:
There's not much to be tied up in the first place, but it was nice and interesting, so I'd advise you to check it out.

It probably reads much better in one go than chapter by chapter. I'll probably buy the physical book when it releases in my country. But it's more to support the author in general than for this particular work.

Now I could understand why even Gamon-sensei is surprised that The Pool is accepted. It was really his personal project. He just want to draw cool action scene, the story doesn't matter too much. Imagine accepting a manga without story, that editor-in-chief is an absolute mad man. TBH, it is good in a way. I mean, reading manga only for the sake of the action is a rarity.

Huh. That's it...

The ending had its interesting parts with the wormhole and all the crazy fauna, but it's like a big teaser. I liked the work, more or less, but it honestly just feels like a prelude to something bigger, so I'm left wanting. ... yeah I dunno, mixed feelings on this one.

Loved it!
Felt very complete, all characters ended up how they were supposed to be. I liked how the final monster wasn‘t some boss-type super monster, but instead just a survivor of the previous fight who happens to now be in its natural environment where it can shine. It‘s very realistic in that sense.
The blonde asshole didn‘t do anything for most of the manga but delivered the kill shot and convinced the boss to keep the nugget.
Space viking had his axe moment, nerdy non-virgin was vital the entire time, and the other worker got some deserved brain damage.

All in all very worthwhile short manga. I don‘t need any more of this world, but I do hope Gamon doesn‘t stop writing manga. His action scenes and panelling are top of the manga world!

Disappointed it was so short, I was really enjoying the characters. Had the feel of a (good) Love, Death & Robots episode. Would not mind at all if they continued with the crew in one-shot stories without a larger overarching plot beyond just exploring the pool. I really wanted to know what the chief was going to do about the arm she lost and if there were cybernetic or bio-gel options that would have let her continue in her role.
