@adhding_nerd As a guy that read until chapter 33~34 and is re-reading the serie because the season 1 finally I can tell that you are wrong about your assumptions. First he is not a bad father or emperor because he has a very positive relationship with his sons and daughter and the Empire is triving durant his rule. The problem is that he didn't know about his daughter and I could explain here why this happen but we have to enter in the spoiler territory and this is aplicable to all that happen durant the introduction, the relationship with her father, the jeweled eyes, the meaning behind the conversation with her father, her powers and so on and so forth.
