By how the book with a clue to Goldy Pond was already crumbling down and dates of last published books, it was obvious that Minerva aka James Ratri is long gone.
Those who gave chance to those left behind were betrayed, since Krone have seen a human collaborating with the demon, but he dropped the pen so he wasn't it either.
The escape was within plantations, they were built by demons but people against it made escape routes... should leave that info in the books instead wild goose chase, someone might die along the way...
