Almost forgot about this manga, thanks for coming back! That being said, Minato needs to fuck off and stop trying to force himself into Koyuki's life
Except that was not forcing. He is only doing small talk. There is no rude remark or judgemental opinion by him that was said to koyuki
“I just broke up with my gf, think you can comfort me?”
That's still not him forcing anything? He is acting flirty yes, that's a character trait. He's interested in her, and she hasn't shut him down, so what exactly is wrong with what he's doing? He even clearly asks if they mind if he joins in, he certainly doesn't barge in and expect her to accept it. He clearly said that lins in a flirty/joking manner, and I expect him to grow out of it once he realizes that she doesn't care for that. His main character traut/flaw is that he doesn't really have anyone to be genuine around, and so has this sort of persona he puts on.

Did we just read the same manga? Every single interaction between the two has been marked by careful observation of koyuki by him so he could force her into speaking with him. Whether that's just out of curiosity or for something sinister that remains to be seen, but that could also be seen as textbook manipulation. As far as I'm concerned, he can fuck right off
You have low bar of textbook manipulation. That question should be asked for yourself. Do you skipping the whole reason that koyuki chose this school instead of the near one? She has considerable amount of people disrespecting her by being judgemental, saying rude things to her in the background, and forced to do what people wanted instead of what she want. She is not that weak to needlessly being protected by strangers (you). Even her two friends is just showing concern for koyuki by only with suggestion immediately after his talk (not forcing him to fuck off). You are actually being rude to koyuki if this can be enough to be called forcing to her life (or what you said by manipulation). Koyuki herself make an effort to understand her surrounding. Minato's act was not disgust her like what other peoples doing to her.
you just misunderstand what minato's action even after knowing what's on his mind. Wanna guess what the author's plan with this set up plot?

It's a text of an asshole. I don't care what's author's plan, in real life if you talk like that, you'll be deservedly treated like a creep.
His previous dialogue as pretty insensitive as well.
Also what's with that weird "you're being rude to fictional character by being overprotective" when we're noticing someone's behaving in impolite way? Stop pretending to live in manga world and treating everything with filter of "I know author's plans".
This is the talk about 'what if'. Don't mix this fiction to one you consider reality. Just make sure you bring the facts that the author has already laid out. Bringing real life standard would just bringing unnecessary discussion
If you don't agree with my understanding just say so, i don't expect others to readily agree with mine. If it's in real life, of course minato's action would be looked as condescending by general standard. That is why the author show the reader how the boy's actually thinking. This is the story about highschoolers easily misunderstood after all. Let them have their growth period. Let the author finishing her story first. Like i said before in previous comment, people just misunderstood what minato's doing.
Don't get so overagitated by fictional character's doing.

Arguing in mangadex comments is a waste of time for everyone but I have to get my piece in. Even if you can't sue Minato for what he's doing it's gross behavior that I would not want to be around. If Koyuki was my friend I'd tell her to stay the fuck away from him -- the attention and drama is not worth the trouble even if he's harmless, and if he gets his way I feel like he'd push the issue with her. Foul vibes.

Seems like normal teenagery behavior to me, a bit flirty but not like he was kinda trying to touch her excessively but
it was pretty normal among ppl i knew in school to basically get a new partner rn/rebound (tho if it was like a group of friends i'm sure there's a one week etiquette' of waiting [tho with smartphones these days and if they're in the same neighborhood/easy to meet up in places outside of school to not flaunt it in public i'm sure some ppl date other's exes sooner])
