That's a good question, we do know that the Heroine has something that makes the Duke feel strange so when she enters the frey could actually change everything by itself and nothing will be done when she tries to kill the MC again.
Though what I really want to know is why the heroine even wants to kill the MC in the first place, they were suposed to have been friends so wouldn't the MC have a more valuable use if the heroine kept being friends instead of killing the MC?

that the "heroine" is actually the reincarnation of the antagonist. Though it may be that by living, the MC screws up the "heroine's life. She may also be a psychopath or both that and a reincarnation of the lead antagonist.
