It's an unfortunate necessity for the story to have opponents that can, at least theoretically, be the MC's opponent. At the same time, it makes little sense when considering that whole world. If the Kenkakashuu is as large a group as the thick pile of Wanted posters suggested, and they kill anyone as long as the customer has coin, what prevents any noble from hiring them to kill the entire royal family of any kingdom? If knights are so powerless against them, nothing could stop them. The power balance simply isn't there.

oof introducing blue sword only to obliterate his whole squad and have him look to be in a very bad situation, i wonder if the writer knows the 'worf/wolverine effect' generally needs to person getting worf'd to actually show they're strong in some way first. maybe he'll make it out but idk i feel like the one guy cutting alta's face is more of a show of them being a potential threat than if unknown character C gets got right after being name dropped lol. i guess if he somehow escapes or ends up joining them it might work well still but just seems a lil out of order, like they coulda had a couple pages of them busting up the generic hideouts if it was just to show they're strong but the enemy is stronger. .
