I swear people got a one track mind when it comes to killing, if she just killed him then and there the knowledge that he fucked up so bad he literally became evil and lost his ability to be a hero would be lost as well. Killing him would just serve to make him a martyr to rally the kingdom even more, ain't no "good two shoes" about this decision at all, its entirely pragmatic.

@Kaarme considering she herself pointed out demons in this setting are not bland and 2 dimensional she may very well have opted to just be kind because she wanted to. (that and killing him makes him a martyr, letting him live so people will know what a disappointment he is serves to galvanize her and karna as a credible threat. ) plus she seems to just in general have an interest in humanity so perhaps she's hoping for something symbiotic to emerge from this (after all, showing the "hero's" true colors does benefit humanity as it serves as a sort of lesson in humility and would in turn spur someone with more of a moral fiber to take the stage.) just my thoughts on the matter though, you could be right and she could have been doing this entirely to placate karna.

@Darkblaze6 Karna is such a good kid. Surely you see it as well. It would also be extremely pragmatic to kill the hero if you think back to how humans dying in dungeons feed energy into the dungeon core, allowing demons then to eat the mana flowing out of the core. Check ch7 to refresh your memories. It's about as pragmatic as a farmer killing a pig to have meat to offer to his family. I have to wonder, though, if the author themselves can keep this in mind since I have a hard time imagining Karna allowing too many humans to die in his dungeon. Maybe demons can be recycled as well. He probably has no problems slaughtering invading demons, as long as they don't look like ara-ara-onee-chans.

Ah yes the "your not even worth killing, lets just let you off scot free" cliche😎 tbh the hero wasn't even that to the mc nor was he really a villain that deserved death, but i kinda hoped he got some kinda punishment by mc.

Now the ex-hero is going to come back and be an annoyance. It always annoying that they rarely kill in manga.

MC is going to be a peak shounen protag and spare all of them, because if your enemies die, you lose.

Typical fucking isekai manga. Ofcourse the mc wont take revenge! Hes a nice person!! What was i even expecting? Same thing always happens. Oh? He even joins a demon army and wont take revenge or kill humans? The demon lord likes humans aswell? Every fucking isekai where the mc gets into the demon army or somehow becomes evil,or enemy of humanity, path on revenge etc,he still wont kill a fucking human. Uh.... Welll i dont want to kill humans because i used to be one. So fucking retarded. Same shit every time.

Is he just going to destroy humanity while keeping a good alignment? Cause that would make a fine meal out of this manga.

Tbh this wasn't such a bad route/option to write it so that the MC didn't kill the (former) hero. Though I gotta admit it would've been better to show how that guy's life changed after that event (or maybe we'll see it in some upcoming chapter, dunno)
