The best example of disposing of a problem heir via covering them in posthumous glory that I've read is how Emperor Ezar Vorbarra dealt with Crown Prince Serg in Shards of Honor, one of Lois McMaster Bujold's first books.
The idiot in this manga doesn't hold a candle on Prince Serg when it comes to potential disaster if he took the throne.
