@CraniumAmbiguity It's also just one more element that binds her to the kingdom. If she didn't want that, then not going to any such social gatherings would be a very good choice. She's a unique person with unique skills. She doesn't need to go to the mountain, the mountain will come to her. So, those connections aren't particularly vital for her if they don't serve her own interests.
Just imagine if in our world some small, private company invented a solid way to cure, for example, Alzheimer's. They wouldn't particularly need to spend a single dollar in advertising or going around telling people about it. After they had treated the first patients successfully, news agencies and paying customers would be lining up at their doors.
