hmm is this part different from the novel? cuz if im not mistaken...the novel mentioned that the trigger was the captain (love) but in the manga, its gratitude and all?
No, it isn’t different. In both manga and LN she initially misunderstands thinking it was gratitude. And since it is Saintess magic and different from normal magic, she can’t activate it when she wants so she doesn’t explore it until a later event where she activates it again due to a certain someone being in imminent mortal danger.
Because she doesn’t understand the activation trigger it becomes a source of trouble for her later on since that is required to get rid of miasma
since people officially recognize her as the true Saintess after the purification of a miasma swamp and a certain idiot prince arguing with his fiancee in public which results in her being officially recognized as the true Saintess to the public
At a later point she discovers the true trigger (the Saintess’s love for someone) and ends up getting very embarrassed by it. Head magician is a bit annoying during this arc since he keeps trying to observe the Saintess magic and wants to know the actual trigger to it
@hayatekanzaki So in other words, he's gonna cockblock the main couple, huh? Already don't like him a lot so guess he'll be just above that idiot prince on the character rankings for me.
I know for sure that if I got transferred into that world, with 100% certainty I wouldn't be able to use saint magic. It seems to require reaching the mental state of a pure saint(ess). Kind of makes sense considering the name of the magic, but that's just how it is. Only an utterly selfless person like Sei can achieve it.
i mean i thought the whole point of this research was to find a way that /anyone/ could make better potions though? werent you literally disappointed a few chapters ago that you were certain it was an unreproducible characteristic of your magic that gave you the 50% boost?
