This whole story just seems really pointless. For one the decline in magic could easily be explained if technology greatly expanded and became common; people stopped using magic so it was lost. Even without that, it’s generally a trope in fantasy series that ancient lost magic is much more powerful than the current eras. I really don’t see the need to build a whole plot around the decline... again... for the the 100 billionth time. Also if this is the gold standard of magic then it doesn’t even matter. The Mc isn’t going to accomplish his ONLY goal in reincarnating himself, so what’s even the point of the story now? Also why not go 500 or even 100 years in the future; a thousand seems kinda unnecessary and excessive

It would be great is seeing the state of the world he decides to just say fuck and not enroll in the school. It would be a good twist. Than he and the two girls and a few other people can wander the land, training, fighting, and making other peoples lives better all the while trying to figure out what the fuck went wrong with the world. But this is a generic isekai so that isn't going to happen at all
