I dont quite get the story - wasnt that bearded guy in the forest something like that girls guardian? Why does he want to get rid of her/that servant guy?

@Necrokora Maybe the group he's with is part of a larger criminal organization, and he's trying to sneak into it by fulfilling the "leader's" request to kill Levi, and to counter that he hired the MC to protect and train her.

"This is a Large Foot. It's famous for attacking with its giant hands."

@Necrokora: From what I can see, he followed the order of a larger criminal organization or some sort.
But he is either "Double Agent" or "spy".

Hey cool, a story with the real underpinnings of the plot (so far) being driven primarily by a side character. A dubiously shady but interesting one, too, I like that his design is kind of that of a tough muscle-head guy but that he plays the role of a scout (and apparently a spy) well.
The main pair are amusing, especially the MMC, but I'm liking the pretty reasonable and realistic scope of the background plot more than that. It's kinda rare for a fantasy rpg-game style setting to stay grounded and small-scale, and focus on character interactions. Makes it feel a bit like a good one-or-two player D&D campaign at low levels.

If the "Large Foot" is to go by, all the "monsters" (People can be monsters as well, looking forward to names such as "Left Eye Scar McSlasher" for a loli with a giant hammer) in this comic will be named after something that doesn't match their description and is only named like that because the author is a massive troll.

Does anyone else find the girl annoying? She doesn’t use even an ounce of caution and is too stupid to be alive. It’s a wonder she wasn’t dead before meeting the MC.

I wonder where her source of confidence is. She seems so sure of herself that she doesn’t need to listen to other people.

I simply have no patience for such people.

Good thing this author isn't a doctor, seeing how he confuses hands with feet.

Okay I’m mildly confused about Balaur. From how he acted I guessed he was some sort of spy trying to get into whatever evil organization is doing evil stuff, and along the way he helped an unsuspecting newbie get away from them. He said he tipped off the church people so they’d interfere with whatever the bad guy leader’s name he was talking was, But then at the end he thought (so really talked to us) about how he would jump adventures that tried to take the quest on so they wouldn’t interfere with his plan. He can be good or evil with good intentions, but not both. I can’t tell who he’s lying to right now, and I don’t like that

@illusion_moon I definitely find her annoying, but I’m fine with it because that’s the entire point. Anyway, It’s not a new character trope and has been done MUUUCCH WORSE (look at borderlands 3 for example). The inexperienced rookie’s worse enemy is not being cautious and carelessness. It’s not THAT unrealistic. And is even a problem you can see in higher ranked adventures. Like the mc said even HE lost allies because he was careless in the past. Really either something like that happens to you and you’re forced to learn or someone drills it into your head early. Also remember, she is a BRAND NEW adventure. She was previously in that terrible party as basically bait until Balaur made sure she got her kicked out. She WOULD have died then had the mc not show up (though Balaur was revealed to have also been following and keeping an eye out on her). It was also then later said by both of them that if she just continued as she were and the mc didn’t train, she wouldn’t survive for much longer. As of right now she is listening, learning, and getting the scolding she destroys when she messes up. You can’t blame a rookie for being a rookie. Think of new drivers you can’t stop them from learning because they make one fatal mistake. That’s why you learn in open spaces, with few cars, and a more experienced driver in the car ready to take over the wheel (and really why all new drivers should need a permit and so many hours of practice regardless of age; I’m just saying most accidents are cause by sober adults). Really if anything this shows that the guild desperately needs to force all new adventures to take a like 5 day class explaining everything before they can register. Like how she ran off before listening to the thing about f rank monster extermination. You can’t even really blame her for running off because she was excited. She was finally an adult and just because an adventure able to earn money on her own (and she seems to really like the job). How many times have you read all the terms and conditions before doing whatever? And even if the answer is every time how many times do you think everyone else does it? Ngl people are generally pretty stupid (and yet they always think they’re right), a forced class wouldn’t stop the idiots from getting themselves killed, but definitely lessen the amount of new ignorant adventures.

@TNT261 I'm not saying that she is annoying because she is a rookie. I am fine with her lack of skills and such. After all, she is a rookie as you say. What I am not fine with is her confidence. Inexperienced people are usually aware that they are not very good at the task yet and they usually learn to exercise caution, but she doesn't. It is her attitude, not her ineptitude, that annoys me the most. Think of it like a bad rookie teammate in an online game boasting of his/her own skills and then couldn't back it up. In fact, overconfidence and boasting are annoying in general, whether they are rookies or veteran.

And while I agree with you on some points, I still find her annoying nevertheless. What you said may explain but does not excuse her behavior.

I was perhaps a little too harsh when I first made that comment, but I stiil think she is annoying.

I too don't read terms and conditions, but those are not usually life-threatening. I think a better comparison would be a manual. A manual usually tells you what to do and what not to do, which I think is more similar to the guild introduction things. And not reading a manual, especially if it is a product you are not familiar with, is a bad idea. You may break it unintentionnally, and in some cases, may hurt you in the process.

It's not super clear, but I think he's explaining that his assigned role in the evil (?) group's party is to ambush other adventurers -- but he's not actually doing that, as we can see.
