Can't bring myself to like it. The world feels vaguely interesting, characters are likeable (though shallow), and the narrative hits all necessary demograhy tropes, but the story execution and pacing (especially) are awful. It's the author's first time flying solo, in an unfamilliar medium to boot, and it shows.
That said, I also really want her to succeed. She's talented, hard working, appears to have genuine passion for contemporary 'otaku' culture (though her interests seem to lie more in animation and pure visual design rather than comics), and has good hustle about her when promoting her works (which is rare for Japan).
...I don't know. At the very least the series appear to be doing well, so good for Maya.
Dropped it around chapter 15, if it gets better later I won't be there to find out.
