@Korath True but they're not as bad as you'd think, especially nuts. They're probably better than, for instance, rice cakes or stuff like that. Total calories matter, don't get me wrong, but both nuts and cheese don't have a ton of carbohydrates and the carbs they do have aren't stuff that's gonna hit the bloodstream fast. What really nails you is sugar and highly processed starches that hit the bloodstream fast, spiking blood sugar levels so the body can't use it all; that's when it will get shoved into fat cells just to get it out of the way (and then you'll be hungry again soon). That's what the whole "glycemic index" schtick is all about. Fats are actually relatively slow to digest so, eat some nuts and you'll be using that energy for a fair while and not immediately need another snack.

losing weight is honestly great, but something I don't see mentioned much is some body types will pretty much always have some fat. Sometimes you can't expect to be super thin even with diet and exercise, although it definitely does help. I lost about 50 pounds (245lbs to 195) by watching my diet, biking every day, and doing body weight exercises, but even still I had a bit of a belly. Nothing I could really do about it. I'm pretty much fine with it because I know i'm at a healthy weight (seeing as i'm 6'5 195 is just fine) and I feel great. I can't say I'm not still a bit self conscious about it though.
