Looks like the doc did something to himself before he passed out, we might be seeing him again the future. (Page 26)
Unless his killer is still alive & he need that drive to "live", he might not care about his past & have taken memory loss drug before. Probably half/full immune to it by now, given how they state that he experiments on his own body too.
