It's a very wholesome manga but when you think about it there wouldn't be an "ideal ending". From what I gather from the story, sooner or later, they would forget each other and then meet each other for the first time again, thus continuing the loop, forever and ever. And since ghost can't disappear until their wish is satisfied, they can't escape the loop, because their wish is to be with each other.
