If they don't do at least this much, they risk making him resentful and creating a powerful enemy later.. he is clearly not a man who can be contained (strength, leadership, ambition), so instead they look magnanimous while keeping in his good graces. It also encourages other subjects to make great accomplishments without fear of reprisal, win-win!

I'm honestly not seeing the value of this "humpback sage" so far.. when has he shown any great wisdom? Hasn't he only constantly questioned MC without providing any new insights to current paradigm? He is a glorified admin assistant at this point. Just can't see why they made such a deal about recruiting him before - everyone else has shown a unique characteristic
