Nothing in Egyptian texts other than mentions by a few Pharoahs, namely Ramses II. But the Greeks believed Khione the River Nile's nymph cast snow upon desert
after she was raped by a local peasant. Either way it was considered dangerous.
Which ironically remains to this day, as we have
no infrastructure or plans to deal with snow, rare as it is.
Hell, if it rains too hard they just close roads outright.

Also I do remember Muhammad was a shepherd for a time, and had herding and/or hunting dogs. But regardless of that, you'd be surprised how many arabs and muslims own pet dogs nowadays.
Not even guard dogs, just for plain fun.
2018 stats say there were 3 million+ pet dogs in Egypt.
On the other hand, it mentions 5 million+ pet cats, so I guess cats do win eventually.
