Reality really hurts.......
I didn’t know what Vocaloid was until last year around May, I honestly felt pretty stupid not knowing about.........my life was rather at a down turn.....guess you say I was facing my own Odds and Ends............ I don’t really remember the first song that I heard from Miku, but it did gave me a feeling that I pretty much forgotten.....being happy.

I thought this was some happy-go-lucky story about Miku, but instead I got a deeper look into the dedicated fandom of Vocaloid

Yeah, it’s dumb. Yeah, it’s kinda pathetic, I guess. Yeah, Vocaloid is dying.
And yeah, I’m past it now. It’s been years, frankly.
But even then, even now, it’s still one of an infinitely many types of art - it’s still the result of passion. I can respect that.

This is like that movie “Her”. She’s got too many partners and uncertainties to time-span

I wouldn't say Vocaloid is dying. It may not be as popular as it once was but Vocaloid still has a large and dedicated fandom with many active communities, as well as new fans each day and several live concerts a year that get sold out pretty quick.

I'm relatively new to Vocaloid and from what I can see, things will last for quite a long while. Regardless, I choose to enjoy the years of accumulated content and perhaps even add my own. Who knows, things may even rise back up again. As said in Sand Planet, things are in the hands of the next generation of fans.
Kasane Teto can carry the entire vocaloid scene on her back, Right now her voice and character is pretty popular in certain teenager groups and people living in different countries love listening to her sing their national sad, emo or meme songs.
