Also, a bit random, but something that’s been happening recently in manga is the inclusion of Landmine Girls, which shows how they’re growing in popularity. They're even starting to slowly replace gyarus .

A few years ago, this trio would have been three gyarus, instead of one Landmine Girl, one Gyaru, and one Landmine-Gyaru.

Well, yeah, one girl is using the aesthetic, but the guy's girlfriend has expressions that artists use to indicate someone is close to that stereotype (most noticeably from the fan art the artist did earlier), even though she's a gyaru. And with the girl using the aesthetic, we've only seen two panels of her, so we don’t know much about her, but in general, the aesthetic is the first thing you notice. (Especially her style with the highlight.)

Well there is this. The girl keeps starting out like one, only to keep showing she's not. The notes at the end of it explain the character type as well

Yeah, you can see on page 3 that the thing she's staring at are pictures of him. She's taking pictures and recording everything he's saying, which is why she's constantly on her phone.
