For someone so ill abused, but also so sickly, it seems odd that she survived to 14. If everyone in her own family didn't care that she survived, it's a wonder they apparently took care of her enough when she was sick to consider her a bother, or the fact that after she was attacked by the Cerberus guard, they were so adamant that she had to live.

Maybe they treated her like she was unwanted so that others wouldn't steal her away.

Also, Judas should probably remember how he treated Tara when she first got there before telling her not to judge him so fast.
