@mrbronor : They have issues, but if he is the only one who did not abandon her, and has dedicated his life to providing for and trying to cure her, a bit of obsession is acceptable and understandable. How she reacts to the Saint should be more telling of how she feels (since the MC does seem to have feelings for the saint, but is not acting on them for several reasons)

Bad writing, don't go referring to homunculus as defective if they have feelings and need to be disposed of if later you're going to bring up how they're made and the fact that you can create a 1:1 carbon copy of their memories in a new body.

This is common knowledge and you expect me to believe there isn't a blackmarket for people to recreate themselves as homunculus to live forever if they can make a 1:1 copy of their memories? How is this not already being abused by rich & powerful people who want to be immortal or a kingdom/military to continue to hold onto rare and powerful skills?

I mean, hell, the fact that you can do this also means that it is heavily incentivized to kill people to create obedient homunculus that will follow orders and use their skills accordingly. Creating homunculus should be taboo PERIOD if that is how homunculus is made in this story. But it'll probably just be a plothole the mangaka made an oopsie over and will completely forget about it.

it already is being abused in secret, hence her existence. It's probably a case where those using it, nobility or the church or something, want to monopolize the resources for it and the power that comes from it, therefore outlawing the use of it by anyone but themselves or just doing it themselves because there isn't anyone above them to enforce their own laws against them. Also, don't know if they could use it to enslave people with powerful skills, seems like they need to keep all their memories to keep the skills.

@Hobnobs but does it really make a complete copy of the person, or just copies their memories over to the newborn homunculus? I think the illegal part was making a flesh android with simulated feelings, probably laws against purposely making a feeling slave, and then amending his opinion to a black market one, when she showed that she also has combat skills, doubly illegal. The Judgement skill is probably the really weird thing here, i don't think you're normally supposed to be able to get the skills of dead people. So it's probably taboo to turn a dead person's magic stone, into a living journal of all their secrets.
