@Kllick
I have. I mean I've tried (if i properly understand what you're talking about). Some I stop reading almost immediately, others i'll stick around till around the 200th some chap and then stop. I like those because they at least work hard for their stuff, with some help involved.
HOWEVER, this
thing just has stuff fall into the MC's lap and have him go "Of Course. this free stuff and knowledge is all me. i was too good and i never needed a party in the first place. God i'm so cool and strong and good". There is no hard work involved, there is no real sense of growth either, and the whole "in your face" feel that the whole kicked out of the party style story gives is present but HEAVILY undercut by the fact that
a) he never had the power that was supposed to make him so great until after he left. Meaning he has no good excuse to use the whole "I bet you regret looking down on this guy" attitude that the genre has, as he never would have had the power in the first place until he gets kicked out/ literally given it for free
b) the power that he got was wayyyyy too op and the authour doesn't even try to hide the fact that it is (or realize it if the author is dumb enough). like in slime datta ken, we know the ability to consume things is strong, but it becomes more and more clear that it is stupid op as time goes on.
c) there is no sense that the power he got was deserved as everything just falls into his lap or the effort is never shown. I mean in cultivation novels, the breakthrough system is BS, but at least they acknowledge that it was difficult, dangerous, or strenuous. It takes valuable materials that the characters often had to compete for or get though dangerous means.
d) the party, although they are d*cks and deserve nothing but suffering, did have somewhat of a point when they took the fruit. "well they shoulda let him attack the thing" you might say, but the wizard never asked for permission, and just mindlessly obeyed when he "KNEW" the leader party was wrong. Then he leaves because he is so slow witted he can't even beat the stupid meathead party leader in a battle of words.
d) there is no sense of development of power, like one second he sucks, the next he's op as heck. Thus there is no satisfaction from growth.
honestly, the idea wasn't bad, actually yes it was, but the execution was god awful.
