Someone who prioritises money above all else is not someone who only wastes money, heedless of how much of it is left. Instead such a person would use any methods, including unethical ones, to amass more and more money or assets that can be quickly turned into money. Julianne, on the contrary, was a person who believed she had nothing but money going for her anymore. But she wasn't really inherently interested in money, she just used it as a universal tool, so she didn't bother to study the financies to see if she really even has it in the future.
