This series is one of the funniest mangas I’ve read! The characters are endearing and I love the drawing style.
However, the manga does seem to be a product of its time with jokes that border on sexual harassment. It also features things that were probably less frowned upon a few years ago... there’s a high school age character who becomes engaged to a very young girl, for example. Nothing really happens -They don’t even really kiss or anything- it’s purely for the comedy. However, it still makes me a bit uncomfortable so a small warning if that might be triggering for you.
Other than that, if you can look pst the annoying incompetence of the parents, this manga is absolutely hilarious! I’ve reread it multiple times and still laugh.
It has a sort of crude humor I rarely see in comedy manga (especially one with such shoujo drawing style) and it features situations that are completely new. Things I haven’t seen in anything before or after. There’s an entire subplot about a teacher trying to take the family’s dog since she knows they’ll eat it if they’re hungry enough! It’s just pure comedy gold.
